labels

I often use only a partial sheet of labels when I am make
labels for files at work. I would like to print a
partial page of labels, but it looks like the only option
is print a whole page or print one label. Is there any
option to print labels for example in rows 3-6 on the
sheet of labels?

You can print an individual label from the label wizard, at any position.
For multiple labels, you need mail merge and an appropriate number of empty
records at the start of your data file.
It is not a good idea to re-use label sheets, especially in laser printers.
A detached label would be an expensive lesson.

But if you're willing to take the risk of printing a partial sheet (I do it
all the time without ill effects), press the New Document button to get a
full sheet of labels. They're set up as a table so be sure you have table
gridlines displayed (Table | Show Gridlines) so you can see the cell
boundaries. Then put the addresses in the cells corresponding to the
specific labels you want to print.

My main question is how do you print the labels once the
labels are set up, if they are in the middle of the label
page. I know it is risky to re-use label sheets but we do
it all the time.

I am sorry this problem has become so convoluted!!! At
the beginning of a workday I start with a new sheet of
labels, create the labels from the Word template and use
manual feed on my hp printer to feed the sheet. (I
usually save the document that I made from the Word
template, because I will need the labels in the future,
and I don't want to type them again) Later in the day I
need more labels and I want to start where I left off
without deleting the previous labels. Therefore I need a
way to start printing from the middle of the sheet, using
manual feed. (In WordPerfect-I just click print, type the
label location (which they call page numbers instead of
column and row, i.e. 10-15 and print.) On Word 2002, it
only gives an option to print singal labels or whole
page. I can't print the whole page, as I don't want to
print the previous labels.

We are going round in circles here :-(
The label wizard does not work quite as you imagine. It will enable you to
produce a single label starting at any point on the sheet, or a whole page
of the same label.

There is a third option, as indicated by Suzanne, that allows you to create
a new blank document, in the form of a full page table that represents your
label format. You can type in any or all of the cells on this sheet
according to what labels you have left. You can save this document like any
other. What you can't do is progressively fill a label sheet and only print
part of it.

thank you for exhaustive assistance.

What you can do, however, is progressively fill a blank sheet and select the
labels that have already been printed and format them as Font Color: White.
Unfortunately, this doesn't affect bar codes if you have

As explained in other messages in this thread, there are ways to print
specific labels.
