Labels

For years I used Word to make labels from database of name, address...
Until I discovered how much better Excel is for storing that info.

I am now ready to make labels, but now have no idea how to get that info
from Excel onto Avery 5160 labels.

Hi kevs,

You can still use Excel as your database to pull the information and create
the labels in Word. You sound familiar with doing a merge, so just use your
excel file as the data source.

If not familiar with doing a merge (not that I'm all that familiar with it):
Go into Word, and click Tools | Data Merge Manager (or click Data Merge from
the Tools | Labels dialog). A palette appears. Click open all the little
triangles and go from top to bottom selecting appropriate choices. Create
offer Labels as a choice. Under Get Data choose Open Data Source and select
your Excel file. You can probably skip Word Field and Merge Field but be
sure to Merge after Previewing.

Word Help under data merge will give lots more information, but it might be
faster to just experiment.
