Lack of Address in Contacts

When I view my contacts, some appear with only the name
line, even though I have selected Detailed Address Cards
in the View menu. When I open the Contact the address is
there. I then Save and Close and it appears in the
Detailed View. However, the next time I open contacts it
has reverted to one line of name. Not all my contacts are
like this, only some. Anyone got any ideas why this is
happening. Thanks in advance.
