Lack of Office Shortcut Task Bar in Office 2003

2003 Office no longer includes the Office Shortcut Bar.
Can the executable from the previous version be loaded?

I find this frustrating. I used the shortcut bar
*constantly*. I find it really hard to know why this had
to be taken away - the quick launch area in the taskbar
takes away from the real-estate needed to show what
programs you are running - and the shortcut bar used this
nice little area that really got in the way of nothing
else.

Sigh - there was no need to get rid of this handy little
utility!!

You can use a custom installation of the Office XP or 2000 (I recommend the
Office XP) to get back the oh-so-useful toolbar for Office 2003.

Thank goodness I am still using Office 2000 Professional!:-
) But since Works Suite 2004 has Word XP, I added the word
xp icon in the shortcut bar and I'll add the Outlook 2003
icon when I buy Outlook 2003.

Yeah, I know what you mean...

On the other hand, I have had more trouble with that shortcut bar not
working than anything else in Office! I use Office 97, and every single time
you try to customise the buttons shown on the shortcut bar, it gives them
the wrong icon, or gets them in the wrong order, or mixes up the
descriptions, or... it's such a simple little device, it utterly amazes me
that it doesn't work right!

I haven't tried Office 2000 - presumably that still includes it. Does it
work properly in that?

Thanks.
