landscape cuts off part of page.

I've got a 38 page word 97 document that has a section of the document that
needs to be landscape. I create the whole document in portrait, selected
the landscape area, went to page setup and changed the layout to landscape.
I get a message that the margins are outside the printable area. If I
ignore it a large part of the text is cut off on the left hand margin. If I
select fix, it changes the margins from 1" all around to 1" top, bottom, and
right, and the left to 2.67". What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Brad

Although the technique you used should work, sometimes (obviously) it
doesn't. So here's an alternative method:

1. Insert a section break (Next Page) before the part you want to be in
landscape orientation, and another between that portion and the part that
starts being portrait again.

2. With the insertion point in the desired landscape section, go to Page
Setup and choose landscape orientation, making sure that "This section" is
seleted in "Apply to."
