It helps if you tell us what version of Word you're using.
1. File | Page Setup. Change the setting from Portrait to Landscape on the
Margins tab (Word 2002) or Paper Size tab (previous versions).
2. This will depend on your scanning software. If you have installed
Microsoft Photo Editor in Word 97, you can scan directly into Word using
Insert | Picture | From Scanner or Camera. Later versions have similar menu
items. But you would do better to scan the image into a graphics program and
save it in a standard graphics format, then use Insert | Picture | From File
to put it into Word. That way you have a permanent copy of the image stored
outside the document (you can even link to it instead of embedding it to cut
down on file size).
