Language Bar / Log Off Problem

Speech Recognition / Language bar working fine (XP Pro + Offcie Pro 2003),
but...

If the microphone button is 'active' in the language bar (Office itself is
closed) and I log off, I get the 'End Program - Explorer.exe' panel coming up
every time. Clicking 'Cancel' has no effect. 'End Now' works in that Windows
then logs off but this is a nuisance and seems 'clunky'. Any ideas why this
is happening? And do I have to remember to disable the microphone in the
language bar every time? I just want to know if this expected behaviour. If
so, I'll put up with it but maybe I have a setting wrong somewhere...?
