LANGUAGE BAR WON'T APPEAR IN TRIAL VERSION OF WORD

SR and microphone have been set up but the language bar does not appear
though it is set to appear on the desktop. Clicking 'TOOLS" and 'SPEECH' has
no effect. Trial version is supposed to have full functionality...... but
does it?

The speech recognition feature is available in the trial version,
but it is an optional feature that is not installed
automatically. Since you say clicking on Tools->Speech has no
effect, I think the speech feature wasn't installed on your

The trial version has full functionality for the duration of the trial
period.
