Language for developing add-ins

Hello,
I'm working to develop an add-in to MS Office Outlook and I was
wondering what would be the best language to use. I've read a bunch of
different articles with people promoting a couple different languages,
including VBA, .NET, the VSTO program, C#, and VC++. I'm looking to
develop a serious add-in and I was hoping that I would be able to get
some guidance here.

can you download them.

To a certain extent, it depends on what version(s) of Outlook you're targeting and what language(s) you prefer. VSTO is an option only if you are targeting just Outlook2003.
