The Language section of my Word 2003 Status Bar has disappeared.

How do I get it back?

Go to Tools>Cutomize, select the Commands tab.
Under Categories, select AllCommands, and under Commands find RunToggle.
Drag the RunToggle command to any toolbar you want.

Do you have more than one language enabled? You need to have more than one
language enabled in order to see the language in the Status Bar.

My problem is with the Status Bar - which is not a toolbar and does not
respond to Run Toggle.

I only use English (UK) but I constantly get English (US) inserted because so
many people cannot reset their Normal.dot - I know how but I cannot teach 60m
Brits.
Equally copying text from Excel seems to use English (US) even though I have
the Language there set to (UK)

When I use Tools / Set Language I get both versions of English above the line.

So I guess that I have both enabled.

Check your language settings in Office Language Settings utility. You should
be able to find the utility in the Microsoft Office group in your Start Menu
in the Microsoft Office Tools folder.

Thanks - that has solved the problem.

I've no idea how I changed the settings.
