The language heading has disapeared from the tool bar menu. I´ve tried
re-instaling the software but its just the same. Can anyone help. Its
word 2000.

Word 2000 is a version for the Windows OS. This is the Mac group, so you
will probably get faster resonse from:

microsoft.public.word.application.errors

or one of the other PC Word news groups if this doesn't fix the problem:
