Languages choice under Tools is disappeared

I would like to change to another language, but the language choice
under tools has disappeared. I am sure I saw it some time ago. I am
currently using Microsoft Word X for Mac Service realease 1. I think
also under Entourage it used to be there.

If I reinstall the value pack it does not come up.

Any ideas? Thanks

Here's a wild idea: Is there a menu item View > Word 5.1 Menus? If you
choose it, does the Language menu item reappear? I ask simply because
this is usually the cause when I find that a menu item seems to be
missing on my own machine. m.

Not that wild an idea.

So, Matt, are you accidentally hitting control-5 or whatever it is, fairly
often--or does this just randomly get set and unset?

By the way, it ought to be possible to prevent this from happening--there is
an entry for the command Word5Menus under Window and Help in the Tools |
Customize Keyboard dialog, and deleting the key combo assigned to it should
prevent the random switch to 5.1 menus.

I wonder if there's an active bug setting the hidden preference (as well as
a passive bug that the hidden preference/command exists at all). I deleted
the combo a while ago and do not see random turning on of 5.1 menus happen
on my machine--but that command also turns on the Standard/Formatting/5.1
Toolbars so I'm not sure it's what everyone is complaining about.
