Languiage problem in Word 2003

I have set my default language to English (UK) and saved it in
Normal.dot, but when I open a new document, the language remains
English (US)!!!! The style of the first line of the blank doc is
Normal, and Normal has English (UK) as its language. Only after "Clear
Formatting" do I get the English (UK).... Very strange. In MS Office
Language tools, all set to English (UK).


What do I do wrong?
Please help me.
