Lanuage bar and speed

Hi: I just installed office 2003 after uninstalling 2000. I have two
problems (so far): first, the language bar keeps loading even if I deselect
it and, second, the programs -- especially Outlook -- seem to load very
slowly. any ideas? Thx. Wayne
