laptop faxing from cell phone

D

Desperate

Using winxp, when i connect my motorola cell phone to laptop and use as a
modem, sometimes fax console works, other times it does not. after
reinstalling it will work for a while, but always fails later. it will still
send the fax, but indicates an error, so it is not stored in sent box, but in
outbox as a failure. I am using McAfee and think this could be the source of
problem. but not to sure how to temp disable. have talked to a few locals,
but no one else is using there fax with a cell phone.

You've landed in a discussion group for users of Mac versions of Word (not
your fault: it's a charming foible of Microsoft's web interface that you
used).

Here's where all Microsoft's groups are listed:

I am talking to you at the moment using my Motorola cell phone as a modem.

I can tell you that the Motorola software is fairly flaky (i.e. Sometimes I
works, at other times it does not...)

I found the Motorola help desk to be both knowledgeable and helpful, you may
try ringing them. You should also check on the Motorola web site to see if
there is an update available for Motorola Phone Tools, the application that
is doing the work for you.

Hope this helps
