large file stuck in outbox

I foolishly inserted a large file into an e-mail. It seems to be stuck there.
I can't delete it by a variety of techniques and i have tried to drag it to
the trash/delete folder but that wouldn't work.

Can anyone help an idiot?

Mea Culpa. I was correct. I was being stupid. After I posted this, I
reopened Outlook. I then put my cursor over the send/receive status that was
operational; I then clicked on the spot to stop sending. I did, and it did.
Once it quit 'sending', I was able to delete the e-mail. So i guess if it is
stuck in a sending mode, one cannot delete a message. One must first stop it.
