Large Fonts Don't Animate

In Powerpoint X for Mac SR1, when I create type bigger than 72 point
in Mac OS X, I can't get animation effects to work. Instead of the
text zooming on the screen, it just pops on for example. Any ideas
what might cause this or how to fix?

I can't reproduce that on my machine. Download and install the latest
Office X updates, which are 10.1.2, 10.1.4, and 10.1.5 (10.1.3 is
unnecessary). They¹re available from Microsoft.

Also, make sure you have the latest OS updates from Software Update.

If you continue having problems, go to PowerPoint -> Preferences. Under the
"View" tab, toggle the option to "Enable Quartz Text Smoothing". Does that
help?
