large format printing on mac

Platform: G4, OS 10.2.8.
Printer: HP Designjet 800PS

Cannot expand poster from 8.5x11 format to 56x42 and print
on HP post script printer. Custom print sizes do not work
within PowerPoint.

Bruce,

I think if you have a root around the print options/properties you should see and option to "scale to fit" or
"application page size equals x - please re-scale to fit paper size of y"
