Large PowerPoint docs ?

Thomas von Hassel

Anyone knows if MS PowerPoint hits a hard ceiling when dealing with
large files, files with lots of elements in them ? (crashes, corrupts
the file etc.)

Error is: "Powerpoint cannot open the document because part of the file
is missing"

Additionally, is there a tool on the mac to recover corrupt powerpoint
documents ?

Not that I've heard of, no.
Error is: "Powerpoint cannot open the document because part of the file
is missing"

This seems to be caused most often by saving to external devices (usb sticks,
drives) and not ejecting them properly. Does that ring any bells?

Once part of the file's missing and you get this error, it's probably better to
revert to your most recent backup (I hope you have one!) than to spend time
trying to recover the file. The prognosis isn't good.

Still, there are some suggestions here:

Mac: How do I recover corrupt or unreadable PowerPoint presentations?

Recovering a corrupt presentation

Good luck with it!

documents ?
