large shapes

I am using Visio Standard 5.0c. I have been using the Office Layout Shapes. Each time I try to drop one of the shapes on to the page, they appear very large (they are larger than the page itself), and I can't size them down. I have tried re-installing Visio, and the same thing happens. Are there any settings I can change to fix the problem?

The shapes are probably designed to be placed on a scaled drawing page. You
should set up a scale for your page or start with a diagram template that is
already scaled. I would think that the Office Layout template is already
set up for this.
