Large TIFF files are failing to open in Document Imaging.

I work with TIFF drawings daily and many have resolutions greater than
150,000 x 20,000 and when I try to open them in Document Imaging I receive
the error. 'One of more pages in this file cannot be viewed in Microsoft
Office Document Imaging'.
The files open fine in other Tiff viewers such as ACDSee, IrfinView, ... the
problem is I like using annotations that aren't available in the other
programs. This problem has existed for several years for me, but if Office
versions earlier than 03 I didnt receive an error; however, the file would
only open as a single pixel.

I adjusted the compression with no success. My images are scanned drawings
that are ocassionaly in excess of 2 GigaPixels in size, but only have a color
depth of 1 bit. I believe there is an undocumented limitation in MODI that is
preventing the file from being opened. I was hoping for a work around or news
that MS was increasing the limitation in Office 2007.
