Hi

I have been writing on a large report which now is counting 125 screen shots
(that is alot i now). But to make better worse the images is all copy/pasted
from Paint . This has created an embedded Paint Brush Object the the
picture in Full size (but resized in my word doc).

The document is a staggering 130 mb!. This is not very "ditribution
friendly". I have tried to apply the "Compress all pictures". But it has no
effect on word doc size and pcitures is still 1-1 in size when cliking on
them (guess it is because the a ole embedded).

Is there a way to convert a picture from Paint brush embedded to => Normally
embedded sp i can compress them? (Besides open picture in word embedded in
paint brush, save it to disk, delete the picture from word, insert picture
to word from disk as picture instead of copy/paste from paint?)

Thanks!
Anders

Because you have Copy/pasted all of these images there is no link that can be
refreshed, so it does look as though you will have to reinsert these images
one by one.
Unless someone else on the group knows of a macro that can doe the insert
for you?
To reduce file size try saving the Paint images into either JPG or PNG
depending on the quality you are after, ao a couple to try, do a print to
check and then do the rest.
Use Insert, Picture, From File to file the image files, there is also an
icon on the Picture toolbar (Insert Picture) which does the same.
Using JPG and PNG I have 500+ page document with hundred images under 10Mb
so this is usually the best way to do images.
To further reduce the file size you can paste link to the image file, but if
the document is to go to another user the link could be lost.
Best of luck

You could try right clicking on a picture and choosing Copy. Then do a Paste
Special under the Edit Menu and choose Paste as a Picture PNG or Picture
JPEG. After you've repasted the picture, you can delete the embedded Paint
Object.

I have always found that this option does not give as good as quality result
as from the original source (stating the obvious really) but it could save
time for Anders.
