Hi,
I had a 34 page document with graphics, equations, & endnotes. I was
originally working from Word X and I am printing on two sides. After page 28
the HP LaserJet ran out of memory & cancelled the print job. After trying
different things such as just printing pages 28 & 29, copying the document
to another file, etc. I opened Word 2001 and printed the rest of the
document with no problem whatsoever.

I assume Word X must render the PostScript differently than Word 2001. The
question is there a correction for Word X to fix this problem?

Thanks,
Stanley Williams

Printing from Word 2001 uses a printer driver for OS 9/Classic, printing
from Word X uses a printer driver from OS X.

Check the HP site to make sure you have the latest OS X printer driver for
your model, and try reinstalling it in case it corrupted.

I wonder whether your Word X is updated--it should be at 10.1.6 (updates at
mactopia.com) and printing was a rough spot in the early days of OS X and
Office X.

Hi Stanley:

If your Hewlett Packard printer driver has an option to "Protect memory per
page" switch that on, and make sure the driver is configured to specify the
amount of memory that is actually in the printer.

I think your problem is that the printer is not clearing the memory at the
end of each page. That makes short documents print faster, but can run you
out of memory.

Cheers
