last digit automatically changes to zero (0)

i'm entering a 16-digit credit card account number into a cell, and
after hitting "enter" the last digit automatically changes to a zero...
plse help!!

Fomat the cell as text before entering the value

or

precede the entered value with an apotrophe (single quote).
