Latest Office 2003 updates causing severe slowness

Chris

It appears that the latest Office 2003 updates are
directly causing both Word, and Excel to open very
slowly. Word opens slowly no matter how I open it
(application, or directly on a .doc file). Excel opens
fast if I only open the application, but when I open
a.xls directly it takes 1-2 minutes to open the
spreadsheet.

Microsft may have a bug here, or something is being
executed in the backgroud as a new "feature" that causes
the application to respond slowly.

I am running MS XP SP1 (OS), Office 2003 Pro
(11.5604.5703), on a 2Ghz CPU with 1GB RAM.

I know this sounds crazy, but set your date back to Jan 6th and it
will work fine. It seems to be a NAV error downloaded on the 7th.
Don't update NAV until they have a fix after you re-set the date or it
will come back.
