Try downloading them separately ( Microsoft Download Center) and not from Office Update and install 1 by one manually. Let us know what happens

Thanks for your reply Peter.

I have downloaded and tried to install each one separately from the
Microsoft Download Center, but each one came up with the message "The update
cannot be applied"

Where did you procure your Office 2003 from.

Meanwhile try the following as per below following the steps exactly. Also did you use a Registry Cleaning tool lately

1st Rename Office subkeys

Note: Removing the following registry keys may reset customized user
settings for your Microsoft Office programs.

1. Close all the applications.
2. Click on Start->Run, type in REGEDIT and click on OK.
3. Locate and select the following registry subkeys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0

4. Right click on 11.0 and rename them to Old11.
5. Close the Registry Editor.

2nd. Detect and Repair Office 2003

1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start, point to and click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click Change/Remove Programs on the left pane.
4. Highlight Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 on the right pane
and click Change.
5. Insert the correct version of CD when it requires.
6. Select “Reinstall and Repair†and click Next.
7. Select “Detect and Repair errors in my Office installationâ€.
8. Click Install and wait the process to end.

3rd. Install the Updates

Hi Peter

Unfortunately your suggestion did not work so I decided to completely
uninstall Office 2003 and then reinstalled it.

All seems to be fine now.

Thanks.

Peter:

I have the same problem, but when I do a detect and repair it asks for
my CD Key, which I precisly enter. It is then promptly rejected.
After several attempts, I gave up.

Now, I have attempted it again, with the results being "Installation
ended prematurely because of an error".

Okay, so now here is my problem... I believe that I need to "Remove
and Reinstall," however, I'm guessing that when I reinstall my CD Key
will not be recognized and I will really be hosed (old fireman term)
and probably forced to buy Office 2007. I have verified the CD Key
with Jellybean... any ideas?

Thanks for your help
