latest Office XP updates stop downloading

I'm trying to get the latest Office XP updates downloaded - KB873352 and
KB890829. However whether I try to download & apply both or just one at a
time, the download transfer hangs anywhere - e.g. after 64KB, 685KB (extreme
numbers seen so far).

Once this happens I tend to have to use Task Manager to force IE6 to close.
I have all latest patches on my Win2000 Prof machine, and am trying to do all
this on an administrator account.

Anyone else having this, or might know what the cause is?

This sounds like a general network error. I would make sure you have a
solid connection and don't run any other downloads in the background to give
Office Update your full bandwidth. You can also try downloading one update
at a time to ensure one finishes and installs. If you are behind a proxy
you may want to play with those settings as well.

Thanks for the reply.

I kept trying, and managed to get them to apply individually as you suggest.
It did take a few ries though (maybe lots of other people downloading them
too?). I'm on a 256K connection so with little to no other traffic on my link
I wouldn't expect my end to be an issue.
