Latest Update for Access 2002

Hi. I am confused.

I'm trying to find out what the latest release or SP is for Access 2002. In
searching Microsofts download pages, all I can find is SP3 for Access 2002
Runtime. What is 2002 Runtime?

In checking About Access on my PC, which is networked, it says I have Access
2002 SP3 but when I search Microsofts download site for Access 2002 SP3, all
I get is info on Runtime or XP SP3. Does that mean that, by loading XP SP3, I
automatically load Access 2002 SP3?

Please put me out of my mysery.

look for office updates.

Access 2002 is Access XP Microsoft changed what they have been doing for
years (calling office by the year of release) and called Office 2002, Office
XP, so some people refer to Access as 2002 or Access XP it is the same
thing.

The runtime is a cut down version of Access (cut down is not the right word,
crippled is better), you have no design time with the runtime as it is
intended for people who have written an Access program who want to
distribute it without the end-user requiring Access.

Always use the above link to keep your office version up to date, as there
is an activeX component that checks your version and what updates you have
and tells you what you need.

Thanks Alex. Ive had a look at that. I tried to download the version checker
on my ancient Windows 95 PC at home but it stopped prematurely. Then I
couldnt reply to your post - I get and Error On Page message. I hope it hasnt
messed up my PC.

Im still a bit confused, Alex. As I said earlier, when I use About Access,
Im told that I have Access 2002 SP3. But if I look for this on Microsofts
download site, it doesnt exist. So to repeat my question, if I download
Windows XP SP3 do I automatically get Access 2002 SP3? If not, where do I get
downloads for Access 2002? If they exist separately, surely I would be able
to see Access 2002 SP3 as a download.

Hi John,

Windows XP SP3 does not exist, but Office XP SP3 does, and Office XP SP3
does include SP3 for Access XP/2002. So to be clear if you are running
either Access 2002/XP (they are the same thing) then Office XP SP3 will
update your Access version to the latest SP.
