Launch Party software

Hello,
I was looking for MS Office on Ebay and noticed very good proces for MS Office PRO with One Note. After some digging I found that these packages are from a launch party event. Are these legit packages? Can I buy, register, and eventually upgrade this particular package? Or should I stay away from these auctions? Appreicate any help.

Susan, I attended a launch event and just received my free
copy of Office 2K3 in the mail. It is a fully functional
copy; however, there are two caveats:

1. Someone may have already activated the product key
2. The back of the CD folder clearly states that the
product is not for resale.
