Launching Macro when Opening Application

Does anyone know how I can launch a macro when I initially open up
Microsoft Project? I know you can use the project_open for when you
want a macro to run when you open up a project, but is there a way to
have a macro run on opening the application itself?

I'm trying to provide some initial dialog boxes/forms to steer users
in a certain direction when they initially open up Microsoft Project.

Yes. Put a project_open macro in Global.mpt.
Project opens that file whenever you start project.
