launching visio 2007

I am having trouble launching visio. Every time I launch it a dialog box
appears with "configuration progress". I will click on the x to get out of
that and visio then launches. It is more of an aggrevation than a problem.

I've been having the same thing with Word 2007, intermittently. Could it
have anything to do with the fact that I also have Word 97 installed, and use
it occasionally?

By the way -- the dialog box is just a progress meter; it seems to be
configuring the program for first use (although it's been used often before).
