Launching Word/Excel from hyperlink

Hi,

When I publish a Visio diagram as a webpage with
hyperlinks in it, it works okay. I've been trying like
crazy to figure out how to actually launch Excel/Word
rather than just another Internet Explorer window that
works like Excel/Word, but all the toolbars are hidden.
I can turn them on, but I have to do it for each & every
hyperlink that I follow.

Any suggestions?

BTW I'm using Visio 2003.

Hi Paul,

I don't think there's anything you can do to the hyperlinks to make them
launch the app rather than loading the appropriate app within IE. If you
just create a very plain webpage with links to Word or Excel files, you
should see the same issue.

You might try posting to the Word or Excel newsgroups to see if they know an
easy way to change IE's behavior when launching a link to one of their
documents.

I'm sorry I can't offer anything better.
