Layers in Visio 2000

Is there a way to toggle layer views in Visio 2000
without having to go through the View->Layer Properties-
etc. process? Is there a keystroke combination that
allows one to do this?

Thanks!

Samson,

There currently isn't a built-in way to toggle the layer views in Visio
without going through the dialog. Something could be done using some
programming in Visio, or you could try opening the ShapeSheet window next to
your drawing and toggling the layers in there. Here's how:

1) With nothing selected, choose Window > Show ShapeSheet
2) Scroll down to the Layers section. If it is not showing, you need to
perform these additional steps:
a) Right-click in the ShapeSheet window, and choose "View Sections..."
b) Turn on the checkbox next to the 'Layers' item and choose OK
3) In the 'Visible' cell, toggle the values to show and hide the layers
(0=show, 1=hide)

It's a great suggestion to improve the interface for modifying layer
properties so you don't have to continually open the dialog -- we'll
consider this for a future release.
