Layers, overlapping, opaque nature of OWC.

I've come to realize that using the <object> tag to embed
an web component forces it to be opaque. Any javascript
menu, or anything that has to do with layers will fall
into the background behind your component no matter what
you do.

Is there any way around this? Is there a simple property
for the object that I'm simply missing?

How pumped are you feeling? You gonna have to be pumped to hack this one.

I haven't found a clean way to do this yet but there's always the hack. I
used the alpha filter and opacity to cut the opacity of the background. I no
longer have the code though because the boss didn't like the effect but I
remember the link which lead me down the right path. I never said it was
easy either. I'll stand aside while you do your thing.

Hmm, I'm getting mixed results.. What "background" are you
referring to? The page itself? The container of the
object (a td tag, or something) or some larger div that
wraps it?

cheers (thanks, really, this is frigging irritating, and
I'm almost out of mt. dew)..
