Layers - problem viewing website

With the help of this forum I was able to create a photo gallery for one of
my clients where you click on a thumbnail and a larger picture shows up in
another box. When I view the page it looks fine but when she views it on her
computer she says that the larger box covers up the bottom row of thumbnails.

How can I fix this problem so the page views properly?

Don't use absolute positioning. You should be able to do the same thing
with a simple table without using layers.

PS you do realize that home page weighs about 5MB with 20 large images
and a 3.2MB swf music file, right? Is that what your client wants? If
she does, you should waste no time talking her out of it. Few people
will wait around long enough for that page to load not even high speed
connection users.

Thank you for your response. Are you referring to the index when you say
home or the theme gallery page? My client wants everything included on the
gallery page. I've tried explaining to her that the page includes too many
images / files and slows down viewing.

As far as "not using layer"...
I got the script from this forum to create that photo gallery so I'm not
sure how to achieve this gallery without using the layer.

Any suggestions?

Sorry- meant the theme gallery page not the home page. re the script-
someone may be able to help you adapt that script to something without
layers or you can search for another slide show script that doesn't use
layers. There are plenty out there. As for the large images... that's
why God created thumbnails . At least turn the preview images into
true small file size thumbnails and load the larger image into the main
slide show on click. And remove that very large sound file completely if
possible or replace it with something much smaller like a midi. Remember
to include a turn off control. You might mention to your client that at
least one visitor has asked for that and that in general, music is a
turn off for many visitors. Remind her she's selling party themes, not
music.
