Before anything else, confirm that you have Office fully updated (12.2.3) as
well as whatever version of OS X you're running. It's pointless to chase
symptoms if current updates haven't been applied.

If the problem continues once everything is fully updated, disk permissions
have been repaired & you've restarted your Mac there are only a couple of
likely causes for what you described.

One is that you are using Web Layout View. You can switch to any view using
the View menu ‹ you don't 'need' the buttons at the bottom of the screen.

More likely the View Preferences have been change to not display those
features. Go to Word> Preferences> View & in the Window section restore the
checks for the Status Bar, Vertical & Horizontal Scroll Bars.

Thank you.
The status bar, horizontal and vertical scroll bars have been updated. I ran all updates and restarted my computer. It is still not working though.

We need a clearer and more detailed description of what you need. We can't
see your screen from here, and "It is still not working" does not tell me
enough to guess what is wrong.

On the View menu, which items are checked?

Cheers
