We use a windows active directory network with Exchange as our email server
and we have 2 users that will continue to use Macs with Entourage. We had a
POP server, but we are getting rid of it. I got Entourage setup to use our
Exchange server. There are no problems accessing mailboxes with entourage. I
am able to send and receive mail just fine.
So that our Macs users can use the global addres list on exchange I set up
the directory services (LDAP) in entourage under the exchange account
settings to search active diretory on our exchange server. I have the server
and search base entered correctly (set at the top level "dc=DOMAIN,dc=COM").
The reason I know it is correct and talks to the server is because as soon
as you run a search against the directory you will get the correct results
displayed, but then after about 1 second entourage produces a generic error
and quits, even though it does return the appropriate results. It does this
in OS X 10.2 and 10.3
Any suggestions??
