Is it possible to decrease the leading (amount of space between lines) so I
can get more lines on my page?

Format > Paragraph, under Line spacing select Multiple and in the space type
a decinal fraction (e.g. 0.95).

You can format paragraphs to have line spacing as a multiple - say 0.9 or
0.8. You can go as low as 0.06 but I can't imagine why.

You can also set Exact line spacing for an amount (in points) less than the
nominal point size.
