Learning Custom Animations

Are there any reference materials - CDs, online access,
books with CDs, tapes, etc - that depict custom
animations along with the detail from the Custom
Animation pane for learning purposes?

have a look at http://www.echosvoice.com/gotchas.htm, she has a comparison
of "old" and "new" animation features and a simple presentation, showing
some of the custom animations. (I have a more complex one in German, in case
you understand it.)

Sorry, I can't say much about PowerPoint-Books in English - for Germany I
prefer those of Microsoft Press (but they are general handbooks, no special
titles for animations).

I myself learned a lot by trying out the animations and playing with them -
and looking at other presenter's files.

the training section of Office PowerPoint 2003, but it's relevant to XP as
well.

and see the frames of the website in German, but the content is English. Is
there also a German version of this available.

Sure, you can set your language for the site here:

The German version of the URLs I linked before is the same as the US English
with the German code pages on the end instead of the english ones (i.e. 1031
instead of 1033). I can't read German, so I can't tell you if they read the
same as the English form of the content. Using these URLs on my computer,
without changing language/locale with the link above, I see the links below
as German with an English frame.

Obviously, there are bound to be some differences in content between
different countries.

There is a website called Virtual Training Company and

can be accessed by going to vtc.com. They have a wide
variety of online traing courses that you can go to one
of which is powerpoint 2000. It touches on custom
animation and really gave me a leg up with this program.
The fee is $25.00 a month for unlimited access. I have
been using this site for four years.
