Leave Message On Server doesn't stay checked

Hi,

I am running Win XP Home with Outlook 2003 on both my desktop and laptop. I
like to have emails download to both computers and the setting to Leave
Messages On Server has always worked fine, until recently.

It will work fine for a few days, then one computer or the other will
suddenly uncheck that option. I cannot figure out what events are causing
this to happen.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening and keep that box checked?

First, with Outlook closed, try deleting the (usually hidden) file
%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook\<profilename>.srs file (where <profilename> is
your mail profile name. If that doesn't work, create a new mail profile.
