Lebans Report2PDF - Tranparency Problem

L

Lewis Brunton

Hi,

I am using Stephen Lebans Report2PDF and it is working well. I changed my
various reports to use rectangles rather than lines and everything shows up
fine when converted to a pdf except..... Graphs!

Because the Graphing function in Access is so naff I have had to overlay one
graph on another to get all the series I want to show on a 'graph'. This
works well when converted to pdf via distiller, and indeed the snapshot file
shows one graph ontop of the other properly as well.

However Report2PDF only shows the topmost graph.

Can anyone help?

thanks

Are you using the latest version? Specifically, the latest ZIP archive
contains a new version of the DynaPDF library. In a lot of cases I find:

1) The user downloads the new version of ReportToPDF.zip file.
2) They unzip the archive to a folder on their hard rive and copy the files
over to the folder containing the MDB they are working on.

Sounds right, doesn't it? Unfortunately, if you have previously copied an
earlier version of the DynaPDF.DLL file to your WIndows/System32 folder then
you WILL NOT be using the newer version that was copied to the folder
containing your MDB.

I would suggest you perform a search for the DynaPDF.DLL file. Delete all
instances you find. Finally, copy the new version you downloaded into your
WIndows/System32 folder.

Reboot your computer in the event that the DynaPDF.DLL is still loaded into
memory.

ONLY after you follow all of the above instructions, if you still see the
same issue, please Email me the Snapshot file containing the multiple
overlaid Graphs.

Finally, I have seen overlay/transparency issues such as these solved by
simply modifying the default Printer Driver for this report. Try selecting
an older plain jain HP Laserjet Driver. If that does not work then select a
different SPOOL output type than what is currently selected.

Hi Stephen

I downloaded the archive last Friday so unless its changed since then I have
the latest version. I also checked whether there were any previous versions
of DynaPDF.dll on my pc - there is not.

I can email you copy of the snapshot file, however when I click on your
email link on your website I get a web form with no way to send an attachment.

I am getting one further problem - when trying to combine the pdf files I
have created from snp files using Adobe Acrobat I get the error:

"The documents contain subset fonts that have the same name and cannot be
merged"

Anything you can suggest with that one?

Thanks for your help

Lewis

Hi Lewis,
my Email is:
(e-mail address removed)

I'm currently looking at an issue whereby the PDF doc's created by
ReportToPDF are much larger than their Adobe created counterparts. It seems
to be a font embedding issue. I'll probably get a chance later this week to
resolve the embedded font issue which should solve your issue as well.

I have not forgotten your issue Lewis. I am just trying to finish my OLE
object Extractor and will get back to working on the PDf project shortly.

I just wanted to say BIG THANKS to MISTER Lebans for Report2PDF, just what I
was looking for (and I didn't even know it's what I wanted. So far initial
testing has it being a big success!
