Left boarders and buttons

This group has convinced me that using roll over buttons of FP is not wise. I manage www.unionbaptistohio.org and want to get rid of the FP roll over buttons.

I thought I would use a left boarder (which I learned about from this group) but when I go to themes all I find is for top boarders. Also when I use a horizontal theme it does become vertical but then I get a message "Add new button" which makes my boarder much wider than I want.

Two question: Are Themes java script and OK to use?
How can I start off with a fresh button and put my own words on them and my own hyper link? I don't want to buy a third part program like AllWebsMenu for use on this site.

All themes use JavaScript for the nav bars (image changes)
All themes have Horizontal and Vertical nav buttons
- which is used where depends on which you select in your nav bar properties

The "Add new button" you are seeing will not be there on any page that is in your Nav View

OK. I put in a left shared boarder but I cannot get a theme into the left
shared boarder. I click inside the left shared boarder and them go to
Format>theme>industrial then Ok but where is my theme and why isn't it in my
shared boarder?

Themes are applied to your pages
- not the shared borders in your page
You can add a Nav bar to shared borders
Format shared borders and select the include nav options
But once again nothing will show unless you have created a Navigation View

Once you insert Navigation ( Insert | Navigation | Link Bars| Bars Based
Upon Nav. Structure )| into the shared border, then you go to View |
Navigation build the structure there by adding and moving the page icons
around.

Caveat: Shared borders and Bars based upon Navigation Structure...can drive
you loopy if your site is large...partially because of its really
convienient "automaticness". You should experiment first.
