left margin of word data pasted into e-mail is off screen

I'm trying to send data from a word file in the body of an e-mail
but the left margin is always off the screen.
I've tried copy/paste and saving the word file
in several formats. It always appears the same.
Can somebody explain how to get it to appear
properly?
