Left to right Org charts

Hi all,

I use Visio 2002 on Windows XP.

I need to make organizational charts that are arranged from left to right,
NOT from top to bottom.
Is there any pre-set layout for this ?

I din't find any easy way to manage this kind of chart. Is there any ?

I did a Google o the topic and found people who had asked the same question
going back 2 years. But all went unanswered...

Is this so simple nobody wants to answer, or the other way around?

Here is what I have done: (Sorry if my menu/tab/option names are off... I
have a French version of Visio and have translated the labels as best as I
could...)

I went to File > Page Layout > Positioning Tab
I selected Org Chart, Left to Right and I checked the "auto-adjust when
inserting" checkbox.

But when I manually insert new shapes by positionning the subordinates over
the superior, they were still top to bottom.
So I clicked on Reorganize shapes (Org chart toolbar), still top to bottom.
What is the purpose of this tab? It does not seem to do anything at all!

So I went to Shape > Shape Layout and did the same thing there... left to
right... clicked on Apply, then the shapes were placed left to right, except
that when I closed the dialog box, Visio repositionned the shapes top to
bottom Aaarrggghhh!

So I checked the radio button next to "Do not automtically position shapes"
in Org Charts > Options.

I retried the form layout bit and it finally worked. But from now on I must
never click on "Reorganize shpaes" or they will go back to being top to
bottom...

2 problems with this:

1) If I add shapes, they are still top to bottom, and I have to keep redoing
the Shape layout bit...
2) Connectors are still from the bottom of the superior to the top of the
subordinates, even if the shapes are left to right... it is very peculiar
looking. Any way to force the connectors to go from the left of a top shape
to the right of a sub shape?

I am willing to go into the shape sheet if it is necessary and create a
shape template... but I do not know which property to look at in the
hundreds we have access to in the shapesheet. Is it page properties, the
shape properties or the connectors properties? Which properties?

Thanks.
