I need to make a pleading template with the numbers on the left side, spaced
at 1.5 lines and a firm logo name on the bottom right. Using the wizard
works until a secretary attempts to paste text into the template. When this
happens, the number spacing is removed and duplicate numbers are inserted.
(It goes from 1 thru 34 at 1.5 lines to 1 thru 34 single spaced, then
starting at 1 again all the way down the page) Using 'Paste Special' does
not work, because there is so much clean up work to do. (Re-centering,
indenting, bolding etc) I have not been successful in my attempts to lock
the formatting for the template. I tried to create a line and number
graphic, but when the template is used, the graphic is not carried to the
second page.
We can get around this by printing on pre-printed pleading paper, but
Federal court is requiring electronic filing and they have to be in PDF
format. Anyone run into this?
Thanks
Bill

The Pleading Wizard that ships with Word creates a document with fixed
numbers in a text box anchored to the header (so it repeats on every page).
Ordinary line numbering in Word matches the actual text lines, so unless the
text is 1.5-line spaced, you won't get line numbers that way.
