Legal vs illegal office 2003

I want to install a new and legal office 2003 onto a computer with a not so
legal office 2003.
Install over it? Remove it first? How about saving emails and address
books, etc. for the new version?

Uninstalling the no so legal Office 2003 will not remove you data files
which include outlook.pst {which contains your email and contract
information}. Always best to backup your data when you do any major change.
Suggest you copy your current outlook.pst file to your documents folder for
safety.

IMO, uninstalling would be the clean way to go.

All data remains intact, but as in any PC useage a data backup is allways
wise.
You might be better off uninstalling, then rebooting, prior to installing
from cd
