Letter transpositions from WinWord to Word for Mac

Word 2007 (Vista 32- 0r 64-bit). Often, but not always, when I send a file to
a client who uses Office for Mac 2008, some capital letter transpose. For
example:

Ws become Rs and Ts become Ls.

The problem seem most common with small caps, which I often use as a
headline style. Has anyone else experienced this problem and discovered
either a cause of a cure?

Thanks in advance.

I've not seen this but I suspect that some type of font substitution is
taking place because the font you are using is not part of the Mac. Next
time you send a document that exhibits the problem, reopen the document and
SaveAs choosing the option to embed the fonts. Then send the file again
(which unfortunately will be MUCH larger though). If it now display
correctly on the Mac, it proves that it is a font incompatibility.

I'm afraid that is not a practical option. Most of the files I am sending are
resumes, and they need to be held below 500k, which embedding often exceeds.
I'm using pretty standard fonts (Times New Roman, Garamond, Ariell Narrow)
and it has happened with all three.

I only suggested you to send a known problem document with embedded fonts
just the once to the recipient to see if it still displayed the errors - I
was not suggesting embedding fonts as a permanent solution - which would be
ridiculous. You need to determine which end is at fault.
