Letterhead - graphic placement

M

margaret

Am having problems setting up a letterhead in Word 2000. Have placed all
the elements as graphics (originally used .wmf files but some of the
text/symbols were going funny - don't know why) at the bottom of the page
there are two separate graphic elements, both inline.

The problem being that the second graphic is jumping and not fixed - have
went into advanced and used these settings:-

text wrapping : behind text
picture position: both horizontal and vertical and absolute positions ref
page
options: none are ticked

How do I get the second graphic fixed?

Thanks

Check that both graphics have 'allow overlap' checked. It sounds like the
second graphic is jumping around to stay out of the way of the first.

You state that the graphics are "inline," but if the wrapping is "Behind
Text," then they are not inline. Depending on their relation to the rest of
the text in your footer, you might have better luck putting them in a
(borderless) table.

Margaret,

You might as well place the graphics in the Header/Footer
section of the document (View|Headers and Footers), not
inline, relative to page (not move with text). Hit Cltr+*
to show the graphics anchor and drag it to the top-most
line just to be safe.
