letters appear too slow

When typing some letters in Word or OE the letters appear too slow on the
screen.
The pc owner tells me that it is not a matter of diskcleaning for he has
done
that.
Someone an idea?

It is more a matter of what is occurring in memory on the machine. What
other programs are running, is spyware running on the machine?

If it has not always been that way then I would look at spyware or some
new program that was loaded that is running all the time.
