Letters on top of each other

When I try to use the MS Small Business Server Fax printer from my Word 2003
in XP Pro SP2 all letters in each line are pushed to the beginning of the
line and are on top of each other and this will then affect all documents
until I restart the computer.

It only happens with Ariel font, not with others. I'm totally puzzled why
this is and wonder whether there is a bug in the software somewhere. Any help
is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Andrea,

Does this clear up if you use File=>Print, switch to
a different printer then switch back to the one you
want to use?

Does it clear up if you close Word, use Start=>Search
to locate and delete the files matching
~$*.*;*.tmp

then restart Word?

Bob

Thank you!

I've been struggling with this for ages. Changing printer cleared it up, but
printing on the fax again, did it again. Deleting the ~....tmp files seems to
have permanently removed this.

Is this a problem with the fax that I just have to live with or is there
some way that it can be got rid off for good?

Thanks again.

I've had this happen too. I was using an older HP inkjet printer and
sometimes when I went to print, after sending the document to the printer,
all letters were squished onto the left side and I was using Times Roman
11pts. If I closed the document and reopened it, all was okay.

This has happened a couple of times on a high-end HP laser printer as well.

Just for information to see if there is a particular fax driver that is
causing this problem, which fax package are you using please?

I'm using the fax that is integral in the MS Small Business Server 2003. One
should think that thsi compares more to the modern HP rather than the
clapped-out old inkjet Tami was talking about.
